In this episode…

The depth of relationships is powered by the good conversations that drive them. Unfortunately, not many know how to engage in meaningful conversations, so they struggle to start — and build — valuable relationships. And in today’s business world, relationships are everything.

How do you have insightful conversations that strengthen relationships without making anyone feel drilled and vulnerable? When people show resistance about a topic in their lives you’re interested in, how do you overcome that and cut through the resistance?

Listen to this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast with Dr. Jeremy Weisz featuring Mixergy Founder Andrew Warner. They discuss interviewing techniques for building deeper relationships, getting people to open up, overcoming self-doubt, why you should never end a conversation on a low point, and more.

Dr. Jeremy Weisz here, Founder of InspiredInsider.com where I talk with inspirational entrepreneurs and leaders and I can’t think of anyone I mean, not many more people more inspirational and Andrew Warner I have today Founder of Mixergy. Nobody, not nobody know. But you are an inspiration to many people. And I always like to Andrew point out a few episodes people to check out the podcast. And I like to choose ones that not many people have heard of. But it’s just amazing story. And some of the as you know some of the interviews, I want to hear from you too many interviews out there that maybe no one’s heard of this person, but it’s just an amazing story that everyone should listen to. So I’m going to mention one I want you to mention a few of mixergy. But for me, Chris Ategeka was one of the ones on mine that was just really an inspiration and just listen to the interview is seven years old lost his parents who died of AIDS and he started to profits to nonprofits, and speaks nine languages got a PhD at Berkeley, and just an amazing story. So what’s a one for you? And you’re on mixergy that maybe no one’s heard of it, but just you you think back on the story.

I’m going to give to one from yours and one from mine. You did an interview with Christopher Voss before he became like the cool guy to pay attention to you know, the the hostage negotiator turned author who’s going to teach you how to negotiate in life. I remember reading that book and just saying, Who else can I negotiate with? Well, let’s call them up and negotiate. Hey, Olivia, you want to have a fight? Let’s negotiate. I got these techniques. It was great, though, because it’s so practical. And then you had him on. And you talked it through it was it was really good. Because he’s such a, he’s an expert at his methodology, but he’s also really good at teaching it. So anyway, that’s one on yours. And then for me on my podcast, I’ve really been enjoying playing chess on Chess.com And I just assumed Chess.com it’s a natural when you buy chess, calm people playing chess forever. You put a chess game on there, and the thing will just make buckets of money. In fact, a lot of people thought that I didn’t realize how tough it was to make chess comm work. I didn’t realize how much of a slog it was, but Dude, that thing is making bank it’s just cranking out cash because crackheads like me are so addicted to chess, and there’s no better place to go play chess and then get your game analyzed afterwards in chess.com. So they’re getting my monthly fee every month for God knows how long

Masterclass What about masterclass on Mixergy? What’s, what’s a fan favorite?

Andrew Warner 2:51

Ooh, let me take a look right now. So we, we do do courses where I bring back entrepreneurs who’ve taught done something especially well to teach it. I really like the one that we did with Cameron Herold, he is the guy who’s really good at helping companies hire their second in command. And I remember interviewing him saying, okay, I should be interviewing for my audience, but I need you for me. I’m trying to hire somebody for me helped me think through how can I hire a CEO What? And it was such a good, helpful interview for me. I ended up hiring someone after that. I thought it was selfish. Turns out the audience loved it because other people were thinking the same thing. And my genuine questions were the exact same ones they were thinking about. Anyway, so he’s an interviewee. We then came back and said, Let me teach you a little bit about PR, because he’s also gotten a name for himself who ever heard of SEO is as a title. Nobody even cares about coos, he made himself as like the best known CEO in the business and then also the guy who trains other CEOs and he’s built his reputation anyway, we invited him on we said Teach us how you did this so that other people can raise their profiles in the same way so Cameron Herold for interview, and Cameron held for course,

so many more, check out Mixergy.com and I have a lot of favorites I’ve listened to throughout the years, but um, you know, I like the ones in copywriting direct response. I think it’s the foundation for many things, and I’d probably a fan favorite. I know. Dane Maxwell is one of the first ones on copywriting. I think so that was a popular one as well. Yep. Um, so before I formally introduce Andrew I figured we just jump right into it. But this episode is brought to you by Rise25 at Rise25. We help businesses give to and connect to their dream 100 relationships and we do that Andrew by helping them run their podcasts, of course, because for me, people have heard me say this. The number one thing in my life is relationships. I’m always looking at ways to give to my best relationships, profiled them, the thought leadership, what they’re working on the people I admire, the companies I admire and throughout over the past 10 over 10 years, I have found no better way to do that than have them on on my podcast and Give it to them
